Let’s Do Marketing Signs the Workforce Digital Skills Charter: Join Us in Closing the Digital Skills Gap

At Let’s Do Marketing, we’re proud to announce that we’ve signed the Workforce Digital Skills Charter, joining a growing movement to close the essential digital skills gap in the UK workforce. This initiative, led by FutureDotNow, brings together leaders from business, government, and civil society to ensure every worker has the digital skills needed to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving workplace.

The challenge is clear: over half of working adults in the UK (around 22 million people) lack the ability to perform all 20 essential digital tasks identified as vital for the modern workplace. These tasks include basics like checking a payslip online, setting secure passwords, and managing privacy settings. Alarmingly, this gap spans all levels of income and education, highlighting the urgent need for action.

As artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies continue to reshape industries, the need for a digitally capable workforce has never been greater. A future-ready workforce not only drives economic growth but also strengthens cybersecurity and ensures the UK remains competitive on the global stage.

Our Commitment to Action

By signing the Workforce Digital Skills Charter, Let’s Do Marketing is committing to:

  1. Raising Awareness: We will spotlight the digital skills gap and the opportunities that come from building a digitally confident workforce.

  2. Collaborating for Change: We’ll work with other organisations to deliver a unified vision for essential digital skills, including AI capabilities, and share best practices to accelerate progress.

  3. Empowering Workers: We’ll support our employees and others to build strong digital foundations, weaving targeted training into our existing activities and destigmatising the need to learn digital basics.

A Call to Action

We’re thrilled to be part of this vital initiative. Digital skills are the foundation of a thriving workforce, and it’s time we all work together to close the gap. Investing in our people will unlock incredible opportunities for individuals, businesses, and the UK economy. We encourage other organisations to join us in this movement and make a real difference.
