Maldon District Council sees social media audiences grow by up to 122% and hosts four events thanks to support from Let’s Do Marketing.
In 2024, Let’s Do Marketing began its partnership with Maldon District Council to help increase business engagement across the district. Through a combination of consistent communications, business-focused events and initiatives focused on the local community, we are proud to have strengthened connections between local businesses, the council, and the support available to them.
Due to the success of the partnership so far, we are continuing to work with Maldon District Council through to 2027, allowing us to continue building on the strong foundations established.

Where Let’s Do Marketing Fits In:
Maldon District Council were looking for a communications partner to help increase business engagement, awareness of support and opportunities available across the district.
The contract had several key objectives including delivering regular business events, growing the social media channels, promoting the Locate Maldon district website, supporting the North Essex Economic Board and developing engaging case studies that showcased the success of local businesses.
Our strategy was focused on understanding the needs of local business community and ensuring communications were relevant, informing and engaging. By visiting the district, attending events and conversations with business owners, we were able to develop content that reflected reflect the experiences and opportunities shaping the local economy.
What We Delivered:
Business Events Programme
A key element of the contract was the delivery of 4 business focused events each year within the Maldon District.
Working closely with Maldon District Council, we managed the planning, promotion and delivery of the quarterly events covering themes relevant to the business community. The events featured a range of expert speakers across Essex, providing attendees with practical advice, insights and support on topics including business growth, funding, marketing, sustainability and skills development.

Social Media Strategy
Our social media strategy focussed on providing useful and engaging content to local businesses. By providing awareness of opportunities, support and sharing business success stories, our consistent communication has helped to significantly strengthen the channels.
Facebook followers increased from 199 to 575, exceeding the target by 122%
LinkedIn followers increased from 269 to 418 exceeding the target by 19%
Overall, the growth has enabled the Maldon social channels to become a trusted hub for local businesses to access support and upcoming opportunities all in one place.
Showcasing Business Success
A key part of our approach has been showcasing the businesses that make the Maldon District a vibrant place to work. Through visits to local businesses, writing case studies and a follow Friday campaign, we have celebrated the achievements of local businesses whilst helping to increase their visibility across the district.
By sharing real stories from local business owners, we have been able to create authentic content straight from the district that our audience finds engaging. Featuring familiar businesses, local people and the local environment has helped to create a sense of connection among our audience leading to stronger engagement and overall strengthened social channels.
While audience growth has been an important measure of success, the lasting impact has been the stronger relationships developed across the district, helping to create a more engaged and connected business community.
Following the success of the programme, Let’s Do Marketing has been reappointed to continue supporting Maldon District Council through 2026–2027. By building on the momentum created since 2024, we will continue to strengthen engagement, champion local businesses and foster an even more connected business community across the district.
